Pecan Approved

Updated: Apr 14, 2022

Assuming by now you have heard a little about Seguin's obsession and deep-rooted history with pecans. To say the least, we REALLY like pecans around here. So much so that you will find references all around town from sculptures and art to delicious treats. Being home to 3 different competitors for the World's Largest Pecan (including the current titleholder), it is only natural that we have pecan goods all across town.

So we did the work for you and gathered all the wonderful spots around Seguin where you can purchase pecan and pecan-themed items.

Pape Pecan Co - 5440 S Hwy 123 Bypass

The first stop on your Seguin pecan adventure should most definitely be Pape Pecan. Here you will find Seguin's World's Largest Mobile Pecan, as well as TONS of pecan goodies to purchase. While you're there, you might as well take a look at the world's largest collection of nutcrackers too.

With Pape's out of the way, we'll move on to everyone's favorite thing to talk about (and photograph)... FOOD!

1916 Bar & Bistro - 301 N Austin Street

1916 Bar & Bistro is located inside the historic Aumont building. Make a dinner reservation on their rooftop patio and be sure to order their Pecan Crusted Salmon.

Court Street Coffee - 301 N Austin Street

Should you happen to be at the Aumont during the day, have no fear. Court Street Coffee Shop will be open for you to try their Pecan Coffee or a delicious Strawberry Pecan Salad.

Guero's Backyard - 1202 N Austin Street

Though Guero's isn't open for dine-in at the moment, they are still offering special family meals to take home daily. So keep an eye on their Facebook page and place an order for their Pecan Crusted Chicken, they sell out quickly!

Seguin Brewing Company - 111 W Gonzales Street

Taste the flavors of local pecans in Seguin Brewing's Honey Pecan Ale. Pair it with their Honey Pecan Wings and take your tastebuds for a ride.

Now on to the sweeter things in life...

Sweet Treats - 1011 E Court Street

Pop in, or drive-thru this delicious local bakery to sample some of their amazing treats. Some of their popular pecan items include Chocolate Pecan Cookies, Pecan Brownies, as well as Pecan Pie and Bacon Bourbon Pecan Cupcakes.

Seguin Coffee Company - 410 N Austin Street

If you like to enjoy some coffee with your cupcake, drive-thru this local coffee spot and ask for Pecan Pie coffee. Trust us, you won't be disappointed.

Johnny's BBQ - 6036 Texas 123 Business

What is a pecan list without mention of pecan pie? You can always count on local BBQ restaurants to have a delicious Pecan Pie on the menu, and Johnny's is no exception.

Davila's BBQ - 418 W Kingsbury Street

Stop by this renowned BBQ restaurant for another great Pecan Pie option. But hurry, they sell out fast!

Schultz Saloon - 109 N Austin Street

Schultz Saloon has taken the pecan trend in Seguin into the adult beverage arena. Close out your day in this downtown saloon and order their signature Smoked Pecan Old Fashioned.

Food isn't the only pecan fare Seguin boasts about, we have several shops with interesting pecan items for you to take a look at.

Vogue Shoes - 114 W Court Street

Perhaps your feet need a little more flair, if so, head to Vogue Shoes and don some of their Seguin Pecan Socks. The perfect gift for the pecan enthusiast in your life.

Gift & Gourmet - 212 S Austin Street

This adorable shop has a little bit of everything, pecan items included. Grab a commemorative coaster with our World's Largest Pecan on it or take home some of their Toasted Pecan Syrup.

If you're looking for something a little easier on the pocketbook, we've got a beautiful park just for you!

Max Starcke Park - 650 River Drive

Take a walk beneath the beautiful pecan trees in Max Starcke Park. Play a round of disc golf or watch the kids enjoy the playscape in the shade.

We hope this has inspired you to take a "Pecan Approved" tour of Seguin. So come indulge your inner pecan-lover and spend a few days in our historic little town.
